Jesus calls us to be fishers of people

We are all on the boat together in the eye or heart of the storm. We are all in the same boat together and have to work as a team or community to pull our weight

As UKIP says we are middle England the power house, we have the choice to make a difference

There are the injustices of zero hour contracts, workers not being paid a living wage, the churches providing food banks because the government is not doing its job. Small businesses are burdened with rates, VAT, taxes and National Insurance. Large companies just do not pay

The boat is a metaphor. And what is a Meta for? The captain was killed two thousand years ago, the rudder steers the ship so little moves had big consequences. There is the miracle of evolution where we have evolved from tetropods crawling out of the sea to the amazingly complex animals we are today. Shakespeare’s Tempest may have been his last work reconciling himself to the stage. The Magician and his daughter are exiled and shipwrecked on an island. They draw their enemies to them by magic. This is not for revenge but surrender. The illusions of grandeur disappear and he lays down his powers to be reconciled. Peace and justice rule

Song- Strange Boat

We’re sailing on a strange boat

heading for a strange shore

We’re sailing on a strange boat

heading for a strange shore

Carrying the strangest cargo

that was ever hauled aboard

We’re sailing on a strange sea

blown by a strange wind

We’re sailing on a strange sea

blown by a strange wind

Carrying the strangest crew

that ever sinned

We’re riding in a strange car

we’re followin’ a strange star

We’re climbing on the strangest ladder

that was ever there to climb

We’re living in a strange time

working for a strange goal

We’re living in a strange time

working for a strange goal

We’re turning flesh and body

into soul

The Tempest William Shakespeare

Our revels now are ended. These our actors,

As I foretold you, were all spirits and

Are melted into air, into thin air:

And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,

The cloud-capp’d tow’rs, the gorgeous palaces,

The solemn temples, the great globe itself,

Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,

And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,

Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff

As dreams are made on; and our little life

Is rounded with a sleep.

Peace and joy
